When I first learned about NFTs, I became excited about being able to collect and own the work of the Chicano and Native Artists that I love. Like many of us, I have been supporting my my favorite artists by reposting on my social media accounts. But here was a genuine way I could support them in a profound way.
I was disappointed to discover that there was not a single artist from my community who had their art for sale as an NFT, and nor did they have any plans in the foreseeable future to make their art available as NFT.
This is the reason I became inspired to do my part and try and build a home in the metaverse and web3 for Brown artists. I had already purchased a premium lot in the Sandbox that was going to be for personal use, but I concluded what better way to put this asset to use than to share it with my community.
This is why Player Saint Web3 is building the first NFT art gallery in the metaverse that will prioritize the art of Chicanas and Chicanos, Native Americans from all over Turtle Island Anahuac and Tawantinsuyo.
And of course, the art of our allies will be warmly welcome as well! We are not trying to build a space to exclude anyone, we are just making sure that our own people who have been historically excluded from participating in the game of elites will have a guaranteed seat at the table. :)
Currently, it is being built on a premium lot in the Sandbox, but our vision is to be able to have multiple galleries across all blockchains.
Every chance we get we will promote the art of our people, whether we are directly a part of the project or simply because we love the art or mission they are involved with.
Web3 is offering incredible opportunities for artists and entrepreneurs around the world to be able to control their own destinies thru decentralization. Those of us who are understanding blockchain technology and are beginning to use it toward our investments and projects understand this fundamentally.
Our brown communities however are seriously getting left behind. Helping uplift our RAZA is too great a responsibility for any one person or group. Join us on our mission to unify our Raza into Web3.
What is a DAO?
A DAO is a decentralized organization, meaning that there is no central leader. There are certainly people who are more involved than others, but anyone who wants to get involved in the advancement of brown people will have a hand in the decision making proccess.
Player Saint Web3 is helping fund the creation of the Chicano DAO because it falls in line with our deepest principles of supporting causes that uplift our culture. While we are proud to be able to create this DAO, we look forward to place in the hands of the Chicano community because we understand that this a work that is greater than ourselves, and we hope it will outlast us.
.
This year 2022, we are proudly supporting Plaza de Raza with their fundraising efforts, promoting the valuable work they do for the LA chicano community, and thanks to their support we will be holding a NFT Art exhibit at the 12 Annual El Velorio music and art festival held on October 15th. This show will be headlined by Santos de Los Angeles. And in collaboration with NFT Chicano Art Aztlan Art Gallery, we are encouraging
Through the creation of a Chicano DAO treasury we hope to be able to direct financial support to causes that are important for our community.
Many times, we feel powerless to be able to do more for our people in need, but if we combine our economic forces we will be able to make a meaningful impact in the fight for our rights and dignity.
Chicano Cyberpunk is a series of 1/1 NFT art pieces by Santos de Los Angeles that visually tell the magical realistic story of sacred beings from Aztec-Toltec spirituality that are born in the age of the metaverse with the goal to help decolonize the Children of the Sun, the Chicanos of Aztlan. These sacred beings have to first remember their own divine nature, and that is where the problem begins...
The Chicano Cyberpunk OGs are currently part of the private collection of the NFT Chicano Art Gallery, and will not be available as a public sale, as they were not created for the purpose of making a product, but rather to tell a story. A generative NFT art collection based on the Chicano Cyberpunk OGs will become available for minting in the 4th quarter of 2022.
The Chicano OG generative NFTs will be tentatively released as 1492 PFPs of each character and a derivative collection: Decolonized Players.
It is the dawn of Chicuace Tonatiuh, the 6th Sun, and the ancestors are beyond fed up with the mankind. They are most enraged by the treatment of the Children of the Sun, the descendants of Anahuac who have suffered 600 years of oppression by men who have lost connection with the earth and all our relations.
Mankind has rediscovered the dream realm, the place they call the metaverse, but lacking in spiritual understanding, they threaten to repeat all the mistakes they have committed in the physical world. The wasicu men want to create barriers to keep out most of humanity, they want to gate keep and monetize every corner of this infinite space.
The huehuecayotzitzihuan, the sacred ancestors in omeyocan, the place of duality are making sacrifices asking the teteotl, the sacred beings to be born among barrios of Aztlan so that they may guide the scattered Children of the Sun back into the ancient ways. Ce Acatl is born in colonized Yang Na, the land known as Los Angeles
And so it happens that the first of the sacred ones, Ce Acatl (One Reed) is born in the hood. As other sacred beings in the past, Ce Acatl is born as a helpless child who depends on his parents and his community to guide him so that he can grow into the leader that the people need. That is the problem.
The community he is born into is so colonized and full of toxicity that he experiences the exact hardships that the ancestors had seen. And sometimes no matter how sacred his energy is when he is born, he is weighed down by the suffering of the people around him, and without any elders, medicine men and women, no teachers of the old ways to help him navigate the coldhearted city he is growing up in... he gets caught up.
This is how the story of Chicano Cyber punk begins.
Coatlicue is one of the teteotl, (sacred ones) who is born among the Children of the Sun. She who is a goddess, possessing all the life giving power of mother earth herself, must endure the abuse and disrespect that all the women of Aztlan endure. Ever since the arrival of the colonizers, the divine feminine has not occupied a role in the spirituality of Anahuac. And with this loss of respect for the sacred feminine, a loss of respect for all femininity has followed. And Coatlicue must struggle to not allow the indoctrination of her community that she loves to make her doubt her power.
Coyote did not need to be invited to come to assist the Children of the Sun because he has never left. He is a sacred being who is to be respected, and feared. He feels no sympathy for the Children of the Sun believing they are responsible for their own circumstances.
Even still, he is a teacher. But his ways of teaching are often misunderstood because often so much suffering surrounds his methods.
If the sacred ones are able to succeed in decolonizing themselves and help heal the Children of the Sun from 600 years of colonization, then maybe they will be able to bring about an age of Toltecayotl, Art of Living. If they succeed in their mission, they will be able to open the doors to the metaverse and found Yancuic Teotihucan (the New Place Where Humans Become Gods)
